Mulco Supra Expert

Supra Expert is a super-durable, thermoplastic architectural, one-component sealing compound that dries by solvent evaporation.

Mulco Supra Expert is a thermoplastic sealant from Mulco. Mulco lists it for seals outdoor joints between two perpendicular surfaces exposed to thermal movement around door and window frames, sidings, glass in window frames. Mulco gives the application temperature as product 5 to 30 °C; surface -30 to 40 °C, which the product and the surface both have to meet on the day. Cranco carries it, and which counter has it on the day changes, so ask at the counter.

Supra Expert is Mulco's one-part thermoplastic sealant for outdoor joints around door and window frames, sidings and glass in window frames. It carries ASTM C920 Type S Grade NS Class 25 Use NT, stretches to 1400% under ASTM D412 before rupturing, and holds from -40 to 50 °C in service.

What is Mulco Supra Expert sealant used for?

Outdoor joints between two perpendicular surfaces that move with temperature: door and window frames, sidings and glass in window frames. Mulco lists concrete, masonry, painted or stained wood, aluminium, steel, galvanized steel, glass, fibreglass and PVC as substrates it adheres to, and says exterior use only.

Is Mulco Supra Expert paintable?

Yes, and Mulco says it does not require painting. Wait the full day before the painter follows you. Mulco's own wording:

Does not require painting; however it can be painted over 24 hours after application (latex paint)

How do you apply Mulco Supra Expert?

Gun it with a manual or pneumatic caulking gun, with the product between 5 and 30 °C and the surface between -30 and 40 °C. Mulco caps the joint at 16 mm wide by 10 mm deep and sets the minimum at 6 mm in both directions. At application the product is flammable, and its flash point is 28 °C.

How does Supra Expert differ from Supra Elite?

Mulco Supra Expert is a thermoplastic that dries by solvent evaporation and Mulco rates it exterior only. Mulco Supra Elite is a hybrid and Mulco clears it for outdoor or indoor joints, excluding floors. Supra Elite also carries a movement rating of 25% and a service range down to -50 °C against Supra Expert's -40 °C.

Product's temperature must be above 5°C (40°F) to be applied easily.
