What is Tremflex 834 used for?
General purpose interior and exterior caulking, back-bedding glazing compound, and an acoustical seal in partition walls. Tremco names vinyl, aluminium, wood siding and bathroom and kitchen fixtures as substrates. It is rated at 12.5% movement, so it belongs on a joint that stays close to still.
How long does Tremflex 834 take to set?
Tremco’s linked data sheet gives conflicting tack-free times: 3 hours 55 minutes in the ASTM C679 table and 15 minutes in the cure paragraph. Ask Tremco to confirm tack-free time. The separate paint instruction permits latex or oil-based paint after 30–45 minutes at 22 °C and 50% relative humidity. The stated drying rate is about 3 mm per day under those conditions.
