Dymonic 100

Dymonic 100 is a single-component polyurethane sealant with high flexibility, UV stability, and low VOC designed for weatherproofing & structural applications.

Dymonic 100 is a polyurethane sealant from Tremco. Tremco lists it for expansion/control joints, perimeter caulking (windows, doors, panels), fluid-applied flashing. Tremco gives the application temperature as 40 to 100 °F (4 to 37 °C), which the product and the surface both have to meet on the day. Cranco carries it, and which counter has it on the day changes, so ask at the counter.

What is Dymonic 100?

Dymonic 100 is a one-part, medium-modulus, non-sag polyurethane sealant made by Tremco. Tremsil 600 and the other silicones Cranco stocks sit on their own pages. Tremco rates Dymonic 100 Class 50 under ASTM C920, with +100/-50% movement in typical field conditions.

How long does it take for Dymonic 100 to cure?

It skins in 2 to 3 hours by ASTM C679 and is tack-free in 6 to 8 hours at 23 °C and 50% relative humidity. Tremco does not publish a full-cure figure. The application range is 4 to 37 °C.

Is Dymonic 100 waterproof?

Tremco lists Dymonic 100 for water-immersion applications, but excludes chlorinated, potable, heavy and waste water. Those exclusions apply even though the product is a polyurethane sealant. Confirm the particular water exposure with Tremco before ordering it for a submerged joint.

Is Dymonic 100 paintable?

Tremco says the sealant can be painted over and prints a caveat alongside it: "Although Dymonic 100 is paintable, this does not imply adhesion to and compatibility with all paints." Test the paint on a sample bead, or ask Tremco Technical Services about Technical Bulletin No. S-09-05.

How do you apply Tremco Dymonic 100?

Tremco sets the application range at 4 to 37 °C. It ships in a 300 mL cartridge and a 600 mL sausage. Confirm joint design, backer rod and priming with Tremco for the assembly you are sealing.

Is Dymonic 100 a better sealant than Dymonic FC?

Dymonic 100 is ASTM C920 Class 50 and has +100/-50% movement capability in typical field conditions. Dymonic FC is Class 35 with ±35% movement. Dymonic 100 adheres to damp or green concrete; Tremco prohibits applying FC over damp or contaminated surfaces. FC skins in 1 hour and is tack-free in 3–4 hours, compared with 2–3 hours and 6–8 hours for Dymonic 100. Choose for the joint’s movement, substrate and exposure requirements; skin and tack-free times do not establish full cure or return to service.
