Tremsil 600

Tremsil 600 is a single-component, neutral-cure, fast-skinning, medium modulus silicone sealant.

Tremsil 600 is a silicone sealant from Tremco. Tremco lists it for in-plant glazing (back-bedding, cap, heel and toe beads, sash joinery). Tremco gives the application temperature as 40 °F floor (5 °C), which the product and the surface both have to meet on the day. Cranco carries it, and which counter has it on the day changes, so ask at the counter.

Tremsil 600 is Tremco's neutral-cure, medium-modulus silicone for in-plant glazing: back-bedding, cap, heel and toe beads, and sash joinery. What is Tremsil 600 used for?

In-plant glazing: back-bedding, cap, heel and toe beads, and sash joinery. Tremco says one product covers a job from metal-to-metal joinery through to perimeter beads, which is the reason a shop stocks it rather than three sealants.

What does Tremsil 600 stick to?

Tremco names aluminum, stainless steel, metals, glass, plastics, rigid PVCs, wood, brick, concrete and painted surfaces, and says the sealant is compatible with most common porous and non-porous building components.

How fast does Tremsil 600 skin?

Tremco gives the skin time as 40 minutes at 75 °F and 50% relative humidity. The 8 to 10 minutes on the data sheet is the tooling time, which is the window to tool the bead after it goes on. It is tack free in under 2 hours under ASTM C679, and Tremco publishes no full-cure figure for it on the sheet Cranco holds.

Is Tremsil 600 a neutral-cure silicone?

Yes, which is why it goes on metal and painted surfaces that an acetoxy silicone would corrode. Tremsil 200 is the acetoxy in the same range, and Tremco keeps it off surfaces sensitive to acetic acid vapours.

How cold can you apply Tremsil 600?

Tremco recommends air temperatures of 40 °F, 5 °C, or above before any sealant goes on, and points at its Guide for Cold Weather Applications where colder weather is imminent.

What colours and sizes does Tremsil 600 come in?

White, black, clear, buff and anodized aluminum. It comes in 300 mL cartridges, 600 mL sausages, 17 litre pails and 189 litre drums. The colour chart and the data sheet are both linked at the foot of this page.

Can you use Tremsil 600 under water?

No. Tremco's limitations rule out continuous water immersion, damp or contaminated surfaces, and say to use the sealant with adequate ventilation.

Where can you buy Tremsil 600?

At Cranco's counters in Concord, Barrie and Mississauga. The addresses, phone numbers and hours are further down this page.
