Silicone sealants
Silicone sealants cover different jobs, from window and door perimeters to glazing. Choose a product by the surfaces and joint it is made for.
Cranco lists silicone sealants from Dow, Tremco, DAP and Mulco. Open a product below for its uses, data sheets and application limits.
Choose by the joint and the surfaces
Window perimeter caulking, glass bedding and structural glazing are different applications. Match the product to the job specification before comparing colour or cure time.
For window and door perimeters, compare the perimeter sealants below. For glazing, read the named glazing product’s data sheet. A structural glazing product name does not establish suitability for your assembly.
How do I choose a silicone sealant for windows?
Start with the task: sealing the frame perimeter or glazing the glass. Read the product’s stated uses, the materials it bonds to, preparation requirements and joint limits. Bring the window or project specification when asking the counter for help.
Is acrylic latex caulk with silicone the same as silicone sealant?
ALEX PLUS and ALEX FAST DRY are acrylic latex caulks with silicone. Their DAP data sheets identify that chemistry. Find them under acrylic latex caulk when choosing a product for painting work.
